Safety is of utmost importance to DDH1 and is our core value. We have a no harm commitment that we put at the forefront of everything we do. At the same time, we adhere to strict corporate social responsibility principles to ensure we minimise the impact we have on the environment. Our people are our most valuable asset, and we ensure they are able to take full advantage of our comprehensive training programs.
No Harm Commitment
DDH1 is committed and relentless in its approach to continuous improvement not only from a safety perspective, but in all areas of what we do. Our safety system, accredited to Occupational Health and Safety Management System standards, ensures that we maintain the strictest adherence to safety standards from premobilisation to demobilisation. Every aspect and activity of a drilling program is assessed to ensure practical and relevant controls are always used in a preventative manner. Our systems are supported by highly experienced teams of Operations Managers, Site Supervisors and Safety Professionals who ensure the safe and efficient delivery of drilling programs.
DDH1 has a multi-tiered Integrated Management System that supports the safe and efficient delivery of all drilling programs. Our OHS suite of cloud based systems include Incident Management, Vehicle Movement and Tracking System, Critical Weather Event Monitoring and Equipment Prestart System which ensures the safety of personnel remains our first priority. The consolidation of our IMS is delivered through a centralised cloud based document storage. All rigs, regardless of location, have connectivity through to the IMS via our unique rig communications systems.
Choose Respect Program
At DDH1 Drilling we genuinely care about our people and want everyone to feel safe and secure at work. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect.
Our Choose Respect program sets out the expected behaviours for all DDH1 Drilling employees relating to how we treat each other at work.
Speak Up Program
Our SpeakUp! service has been created in line with our Choose Respect program and provides an easy-to-use way for employees to communicate any concerns or issues they are experiencing at work.
Reducing Our Footprint
DDH1 is steadfast in its community and corporate responsibility to operate without causing impact to the environment. DDH1 ensures the governance and control of operations is aligned to Environmental Management System standards. Mitigation or reduction of any potential environmental harm is central to the planning of all our drilling programs.
Our unique approach to minimising our environmental footprint starts by ensuring preventative controls are in place prior to drilling operations commencing. For example:
- Rig Liners are placed under each rig to contain any potential spill-to-ground events
- Drilling Bores for water supply at drilling locations reduces the requirement to transport water over long distances
- Our fleet of MAN Trucks have the latest European emission control systems
- Water based drilling consumables are always sourced to ensure any adverse impacts on the environment are minimised
- Ensuring that areas of historical significance remain protected
Powered by Our People
DDH1 recognises the importance of not only retaining its people, but also providing a structured training pathway that develops every individual to be the best they can be. All DDH1 drilling personnel have either completed or are enrolled in a Drilling Qualification. This investment into our people not only improves the safety performance and standard of the drilling at DDH1 but also the industry in general. The drilling development program includes the following qualifications to ensure the continual development and improvement of all our field personnel.
- RII20915 – Certificate II in Drilling Operations
- RII31815 – Certificate III in Drilling Operations
- RII40915 – Certificate IV in Drilling Operations
In addition, DDH1 is committed to the development of internal talent that exists within the business and industry to ensure we identify and support our next generation of operational managers. DDH1 offers the below qualifications for our emerging leaders to ensure succession planning and development of our most important assets is ongoing. This qualification is offered by nationally accredited third party Registered Training Organisations who work closely with DDH1 to ensure training outcomes deliver value for the individual, the business and the broader exploration industry.
